Hello friends! I am Jeff Simon and I dabble in environmental and portrait photography. I have been many things to many people over the years, but now as a retired this and a former that, I have a greater opportunity to explore photography in all of its dimensions. I am a Fujifilm fan (or perhaps fanatic) and am currently shooting with a Fuji X-H1 and Fuji X-T2 with an assortment of Fuji lenses. I have become pretty proficient with Lightroom and Photoshop in terms of retouching and adding creative elements to my photos.
My advice to newer photographers is to take classes online or in person and make sure you have a solid understanding about exposure, light and composition. After that, get out there with a camera and start making images that you like. Everyone will have an opinion about what you create, but it is your opinion that matters the most. If you produce an image that you find attractive or interesting or meaningful to YOU, then you will have succeeded! But don't stop there. . . I recommend spending some time looking at great photographers' images to get ideas that you may want to integrate into your own photographs. Be inspired and achieve greatness!
